I could sit here and write a novel about this day because it was so well thought out and put together. I had no clue that Jeremiah was planning to propose to me this past week and he kept it together so well.
For most of you that know us, you know our story and that we've been long (LONG) distance our whole relationship. It's hard, but such a blessing because Jeremiah has taught me what it means to be intentional with time and to communicate well. If anything, it's made us value one another and the time that we are given in between work, grad school, crazy sports schedules, and photography. At times, I would sit and wonder why the heck I am in a relationship with someone two states away and when are we ever going to be in the same zip code.
Goodbyes get really hard.
And, God laid the following verse on my heart:
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
So, on November 1, 2015 Jeremiah tricked me into "taking pictures" on North Campus at UGA--which we ALWAYS DO. He pulled out a picture book that he made with all the pictures from our dating relationship and as you turned the pages it spelled out WILL YOU MARRY ME. I slammed the book shut and said, "YOU'RE NOT JOKING ARE YOU" and "IS THIS REAL?!" He got down on one knee and asked me to be his best friend forever. Of course my immediate response after saying yes was if he asked my dad. He said, "I don't know let me call him" and out walks both of our whole families. I lost it.
I am so overjoyed that God has provided a partner that loves me the way Jeremiah does each day. I can only hope that everyone finds someone that loves them and never treats them like they're ordinary.
Y'all, I'm getting married to Jeremiah Tate Nichols.
